Some of the gentleman's tastes are a little eccentric, but you have a very pleasant few days. The fellow gets loose-lipped with a little port inside him, and you learn more of the secrets of the highborn and powerful. Keeping notees during your meetings would be gauche, but you furiously write down everything he tells you when you are apart. You feel you're getting somewhere, and these secrets may be useful in the future.

The gentleman is a reasonably charming companion, and he does become loose-lipped when he has a little port inside him. After a few bleary late nights and forgotten days you decide that it might be better for your health to try another avenue into the world of the powerful.

The event itself is amusing and useful enough: you certainly find out some surprising truths when the wine is flowing. However, the point is that you've arrived in high society. You are nobody to be trifled with.
