What is the Game of Knife-and-Candle?
Death is not always permanent in Fallen London. This permits the practice of the violent but strangely boyish game of murderous gentlemen's tag called the Game of Knife-and-Candle.

the Clenched Fist: Stand tall! Fight your enemy in the open!
the Swimmer of Shadows: Remain in the shadows as long as possible.
the Fool's Wager: Bait your enemy into believing you're stupid.
the Honey-Trap: Distract your enemy's eye.
the Decoy: Allow some other poor soul to take the knife meant for you.
…the Best Form of Defense: Set an ambush for your ambusher.
Playing Dead: The rumours of your death have been exaggerated. You hope.
