Seeking Curios and Secrets in the Forgotten Quarter
For greater rewards, you'll need to embark on an Expedition. But even out here at the edges, there are a thousand unturned stones. Of course, occasionally one turns over a stone and finds a bad-tempered sorrow-spider, so one should employ thick gloves in one's stone-turning.
Wander the Quarter
A stroll through the echoing empty streets might turn up secrets. Possibly valuable relics, too, but that's obviously a secondary consideration.
[Unlocked when The Airs of the Forgotten Quarter is:]Poke about among the ruins
The shadows in the Forgotten Quarter rustle like leaves. But you see nothing moving.
A matter of luck: it could go either way.
[Unlocked when The Airs of the Forgotten Quarter is:]Speak to an Aristocratic Academic
If you're the right sort, he'll talk to you about what he's looking for.
[Unlocked when Closest To is: The Masters of the Bazaar, The Constables, Society, The Church, The University, The Duchess, Bohemians, or The Great Game]
[Unlocked with Counting the Days 6 and Counting the Days no more than 9]
[Unlocked with Spending Secrets 4]Hell's coursers
The brass hunting horns of devils ring out across the empty avenues of the Quarter. What, or who, are they hunting? Observing devils at their hunts is hardly a safe pastime, but could be interesting.
[Unlocked when The Airs of the Forgotten Quarter is:]See the sights
All these places had names on the surface. And then, one assumes, the names changed when the city fell, just as M-—-e became Ladybones. But then now Londoners have given them names of their own. So, here, the Shuddering Stones. There, the Shadowed Dome. This must be the Fountain of Names. That might be the Holy Chasm.
[Unlocked when The Airs of the Forgotten Quarter is:]Speak to private individuals
Tomb-robbers are the lowest echelon of Quarter explorers. Many of them are barely more than brigands who find the dead marginally easier to rob than the living. But their experience can be valuable.
[Unlocked when The Airs of the Forgotten Quarter is:]A meeting with the Dean
The Dean of Cryptospelunking & Transportable Antiquities keeps an office in a re-occupied tavern at the Quarter's Edge, whence she dispatches brave students for training or punishment. She'll speak with you, but you'll need to wait for an appointment.

Call in favours in the Forgotten Quarter
The Forgotten Quarter is not populated. Or if it is, no-one admits it. But the despised and feared of Fallen London meet here: Tomb-Colonists, Rubbery Men, yellow-eyed ladies from the Brass Embassy.
A curious knot
A Rubbery Man waits here, his face-tentacles contorted into a peculiar tangle. Is he praying? Thinking? Chewing? In any case, you can trade favours for amber.
[Unlocked with Connected: Rubbery Men 15]The dead men's chest
A silent crew of bandaged zailor-men await you at the agreed place and time. They're ready to settle the debt they owe you.
[Unlocked with Connected: The Tomb-Colonies 15]A soothing sight
Look here! All in white, stepping lightly from stone to fallen stone, lovely face wreathed in smiles! She's a deviless, of course. But she seems terribly nice about it. And she offers you brass for past services.
[Unlocked with Connected: Hell 15]
